Abu Dhabi to Host 6th Spartan World Championship

Abu Dhabi will host the sixth edition of the Spartan World Championship from 19 to 22 November 2026 in the Al Wathba Desert. Organized by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the four‑day event will feature a women‑only Neon Night Challenge (5 km, 20 obstacles), an open‑night race for men and women, the flagship Spartan Beast World Championship (21 km, over 30 obstacles), youth races of 1‑3 km, a 10 km Spartan Super race, a mixed‑team World Team Relay, and a community 5 km sprint.

Aref Hamad Al Awani, Secretary‑General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, said the championship highlights the emirate’s world‑class sporting infrastructure, promotes physical activity, and supports sports tourism, reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s reputation as a global sports destination.
