Abu Dhabi 2026 International Sports Hosting

Abu Dhabi announced a series of high‑profile world championships slated for 2026, highlighting the emirate’s push to become a global sports destination. In November, the Abu Dhabi Sports Council will stage the sixth Spartan World Championship in the Al Wathba Desert, featuring a women‑only Neon Night Challenge, open‑night races, the flagship 21 km Spartan Beast, youth events, a 10 km Super race, a mixed‑team relay and a community sprint.

Earlier in the year, the city secured approval from the International Equestrian Federation to host the FEI Endurance World Championship in December at the Butheeb International Endurance Village in Al Khatim. Simultaneously, Abu Dhabi will host the 2026 Jiu‑Jitsu World Championship and the U14 World Cup in August at Mubadala Arena, with the UAE national team fielding over a hundred athletes across five age groups. Officials emphasized the safety of riders and horses, the support of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, and the role of these events in promoting physical activity, sports tourism, and Abu Dhabi’s reputation as a premier venue for international competition.
