Abycine Film Festival announces new support for audiovisual creators
The Abycine International Film Festival in Albacete is strengthening its support for regional and national audiovisual production through various partnerships and awards.
Castilla-La Mancha Media (CMM) has renewed its commitment to regional filmmaking for the 28th edition of the festival, scheduled for October 20 to 29. Through the Impulso CMM Desarrollo initiative, the broadcaster will provide three grants of €17,250 each to selected projects. Additionally, the ‘Hecho en Castilla-La Mancha’ category will award €1,500 to the best short film to recognize local young directors.
In collaboration with RTVE, the festival has also announced five finalists for the II Premio Talento RTVE Abycine. This competition, which features a €15,000 prize, aims to support new Spanish cinematic talent. The selected projects—‘Siameses’, ‘Mal de güeyu’, ‘Avestruz’, ‘Catari’, and ‘Yo la veo guapa’—will participate in the Abycine Lanza professional market, where they will pitch their ideas to industry experts to secure production backing.
