Dortmund and AC Milan vie for Genk talent Konstantinos Karetsas

Greek international Konstantinos Karetsas, the 18‑year‑old attacking midfielder of KRC Genk, has become a hot transfer target in the summer window. Borussia Dortmund have intensified their pursuit, dispatching officials to Belgium and raising their offer to more than €30 million, with a total package that could reach €35‑40 million including bonuses and a future resale clause. The German club says Karetsas prefers a move to Dortmund and a personal agreement on terms is reportedly in place, but Genk’s asking price remains firm.

AC Milan are also tracking the player as a potential replacement for Rafael Leão. The Italian side values Karetsas at roughly €35‑40 million and has indicated that any bid would depend on the club selling Leão and other assets. Journalists note that Karetsas has expressed a preference for Milan, but Milan must first generate funds through outgoing transfers. Chelsea have shown interest as well, but are reportedly behind Dortmund in the race.

Genk has consistently held out for its valuation, demanding €35‑40 million, while both Dortmund and Milan continue negotiations, each hoping to finalize the deal before the transfer deadline.
