Academic institutions in Portugal hold key events for students

In Portugal, several significant academic milestones were marked by recent events. At the Institute for Higher Education (IES, I. P.), an official signing ceremony took place for the Erasmus+ Education and Training funding acceptance terms. Representatives from various youth and academic organizations, including ESN Portugal and the National Federation of Polytechnic Higher Education Student Associations (FNAEESP), signed agreements for projects focused on civic participation, student empowerment, and European citizenship.

Separately, the Universidade Politécnica de Lisboa (UPL) held its 9th edition of Welcome UPL at the Lisbon Superior Institute of Engineering (ISEL). The event welcomed nearly two thousand students to mark the start of the 2026/2027 academic year. This edition was particularly notable as it was the first held under the institution's new identity as the Universidade Politécnica de Lisboa, welcoming the first generation of students under this new chapter.
