ACAReg 2026 scouting camp draws over 5,000 participants to Guimarães, Portugal

The 90th edition of the Acampamento Regional de Braga (ACAReg) opened on 8 August 2026 at the Penha mountain in Guimarães, hosting more than 5,000 scouts from across Portugal. The ceremony featured speeches by Agriculture and Sea Minister José Manuel Fernandes, Archbishop José Cordeiro of Braga, national CNE chief Bento Sousa Lopes, regional chief Catarina Miranda, ACAReg coordinator João Bacelo, and a video greeting from Guimarães mayor Ricardo Araújo, who highlighted the city’s role as European Green Capital 2026.

Under the motto “Dar com Vida”, the six‑day program offers outdoor adventures, nautical activities, workshops and cultural events, aiming to promote the scouting values of joy, audacity, dedication and sharing while reinforcing the city’s commitment to sustainability and youth development.
