Acatlán de Osorio officials summoned to Puebla Congress for mandate hearing

The Puebla State Congress has scheduled a hearing for September 10 at 10:00 AM for the municipal council of Acatlán de Osorio to appear regarding a formal mandate revocation procedure. The hearing involves Mayor Guadalupe Lucero Bárcenas, the regidores, and the syndic.

Julio Miguel Huerta Gómez, president of the Commission of Governance and Constitutional Points, stated that each member will be allotted 30 minutes to present evidence and arguments. This process follows a request from seven regidores and the municipal syndic to determine the mayor's continued tenure.

The Commission is currently analyzing documentation from the State Audit Office of Puebla (ASE) and the Ministry of the Interior. Following the hearing, the legislature will determine the next steps, which may include the revocation of the mayor's mandate or the formation of a Municipal Council. A resolution is expected before September 15.
