Accra to host historic World Assemblies of God Congress in 2026

World Assemblies of God Congress Accra Ghana religious gathering Assemblies of God Fellowship

The 10th Triennial World Assemblies of God Fellowship Congress is set to take place in Accra, Ghana, from October 14 to 16, 2026. Under the theme ‘Commissioned: One Mandate, Every Nation,’ the event marks the first time in the 115-year history of the organization that its global congress will be hosted on African soil.

Organizers expect to host more than 10,000 delegates from over 100 countries, with some estimates suggesting evening sessions could attract between 40,000 and 45,000 participants. The gathering is expected to include high-profile attendees such as former President John Mahama and First Lady Lordina Mahama, as well as international religious leaders like Rev. Dominic Yeo and Rev. Lazarus Chakwera.

To accommodate the large crowds, the congress will utilize Black Star Square for daytime programs and the Accra Sports Stadium for evening sessions. Due to capacity requirements for morning sessions, organizers have ordered a large dome from Dubai capable of seating at least 10,000 people. Officials noted that the influx of visitors is expected to provide a significant boost to Ghana’s hospitality and local business sectors.
