Acecook Vietnam partners with authorities to boost community disaster readiness
Acecook Vietnam is collaborating with the Department of Dike Management and Disaster Prevention, which operates under Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, to run a series of disaster‑risk awareness and training programs. The initiative, set to continue through 2026, targets diverse local groups across provinces such as Thai Nguyen, Đăk Lắk and Lai Châu. Over 1,000 students in Thai Nguyen received visual education on flood and landslide risks, while journalists and reporters were equipped with rapid‑response communication skills.
In Đăk Lắk the focus is on community risk‑assessment, response planning and nutrition education before, during and after disasters. In Lai Châu the programme reaches village heads, elders and frontline responders to improve local information flow and emergency assistance. Acecook’s aim is to help communities identify hazards early, prepare appropriate measures and ultimately reduce damage from increasingly frequent extreme weather events.
