Aceh allocates Rp5.1 billion to restore salt production

The Aceh provincial government has allocated over Rp5.1 billion to restore and develop community salt production businesses impacted by hydrometeorological disasters. The program targets 254 beneficiaries across Bireuen, North Aceh, and East Aceh regencies.

Supported by additional regional transfer funds for the 2026 fiscal year, the initiative focuses on reconstruction, rehabilitation, and business development. The funding aims to rebuild production facilities and increase the resilience of salt farmers against extreme weather. Specific infrastructure projects include the construction of boiling kitchens, stoves, and salt tunnels (greenhouse-style structures) to allow for continued production during unfavorable weather conditions.

Bireuen Regency received the largest allocation of over Rp2.96 billion to support 176 beneficiaries. North Aceh was allocated approximately Rp839.64 million for 33 beneficiaries, while East Aceh received about Rp1.29 billion to assist 45 beneficiaries with production equipment and boiling facilities.
