Aceh hydrometeorological disaster recovery funding
Overview
As of late September 2026, the realization of additional Regional Transfer Funds (TKD) for managing hydrometeorological disaster impacts in Aceh reached Rp498.25 billion, or 30.16 percent of the total Rp1.652 trillion budget.
Government spokesperson Nurlis Effendi noted that this progress was driven by accelerated spending at the regional work unit and regency/city levels. The Ministry of Home Affairs, acting as the task force head for post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction in Sumatra, receives these progress reports.
At the local level, combined realization across 14 regions stood at 30.63 percent of an Rp827.26 billion budget. While Banda Aceh saw the largest nominal increase and Aceh Selatan maintained the highest absorption rate at 65.32 percent, Nagan Raya reported a realization of only 2.69 percent, indicating a need for greater acceleration.
In a specific application of these funds, the Aceh provincial government has allocated over Rp5.1 billion to restore and develop community salt production businesses impacted by the disasters. This initiative targets 254 beneficiaries across Bireuen, North Aceh, and East Aceh regencies. The program focuses on reconstruction, rehabilitation, and business development, including the construction of boiling kitchens, stoves, and salt tunnels to help farmers maintain production during extreme weather. Bireuen Regency received the largest portion, exceeding Rp2.96 billion, while East Aceh and North Aceh received approximately Rp1.29 billion and Rp839.64 million, respectively.
