Aceh Besar man arrested for alleged sexual abuse of a toddler

Police in Banda Aceh have arrested a 41-year-old man, identified by the initials QZ, for the alleged repeated sexual abuse of a four-year-old girl in Aceh Besar.

The investigation began after the victim's mother noticed changes in the child's behavior and physical trauma. On November 30, 2025, the child disclosed to her mother that the abuse had occurred repeatedly. The family subsequently filed a formal police report on December 11, 2025.

Officers from the Polresta Banda Aceh Women and Children Protection Unit apprehended the suspect at a workshop in the Ajuen village area of Peukan Bada on August 20, 2026. Authorities are currently conducting investigations, collecting evidence, and completing psychological examinations of the victim to prepare the case for the public prosecutor.
