Nvidia unveils RTX Spark Arm‑based superchip for AI‑enabled Windows PCs

Nvidia announced the RTX Spark system‑on‑chip at its GTC event in Taipei, positioning it as the first Arm‑based processor built for Windows 11 laptops and desktops. The chip integrates up to 20 Grace‑CPU cores and a Blackwell‑based GPU with 6,144 CUDA cores, delivering up to 1 peta‑FLOP of AI performance and up to 128 GB of unified LPDDR5X memory linked by 600 GB/s NVLink. Nvidia highlighted new Windows security primitives and the NVIDIA OpenShell runtime that let personal AI agents run locally under full user control.

The company frames RTX Spark as a direct challenge to Apple’s M‑series silicon and to Intel‑AMD x86 CPUs, saying “the PC is being reinvented” – a quote from CEO Jensen Huang repeated in several releases. Senior product manager Mark Aevermann called it “the most efficient PC chip ever built”. NVIDIA also announced a broader RTX Spark family, with lower‑spec variants aimed at budget devices.

Partnering with Microsoft, Nvidia will ship RTX Spark‑powered laptops from ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft Surface and MSI in the fall, promising all‑day battery life, 1440p gaming at 100 fps, and AI‑driven workloads such as 12K video editing and 120‑billion‑parameter model inference on‑device. The launch marks Nvidia’s first foray into consumer PC silicon, expanding its AI ecosystem beyond data‑centre GPUs.
