Acesur and La Fabril launch new specialized edible oils

Acesur has expanded its Coosur extra virgin olive oil portfolio with the launch of Coosur Olivares de Sierra. This new product is produced from olives grown at altitudes exceeding 800 meters. The oil is a blend dominated by the Picual variety, featuring an intense sensory profile with notes of freshly cut grass, olive leaves, and tomato plants.

The launch aims to highlight traditional olive groves located on steep slopes that are difficult to mechanize. Maintaining these groves helps prevent soil erosion, preserves mountain fertility, and aids in carbon sequestration.

In Ecuador, La Fabril has introduced Girasol Alto Oleico, a new sunflower oil high in oleic acid (Omega 9). Developed through traditional non-transgenic genetic improvement, the oil is designed for high-temperature cooking. Laboratory tests indicate it has three times the oxidation resistance of standard sunflower oil, making it more stable for frying while providing Vitamin E and zero trans fats.
