Bahia gubernatorial candidates clash over health plans and political ties
As the elections in Bahia approach, candidates for governor are intensifying their campaigns and highlighting their public health platforms. Current Governor Jerônimo Rodrigues (PT) is focusing on regionalization, digital health through the ‘Saúde na Palma das Mãos’ program, and expanding basic health units and hospitals.
In contrast, candidate ACM Neto (União Brasil) proposes restructuring management and improving service agility through partnerships with the private sector. During a recent interview, Rodrigues criticized Neto, labeling him the ‘anti-Lula in Bahia’ and accusing him of attempting to benefit from President Lula’s popularity while maintaining an oppositional stance.
Candidate Ronaldo Mansur (PSOL) also remains a key figure in the race, with the competition centering on how each candidate intends to manage the state's healthcare system and public services.
