Hospital Estadual do Alto Tapajós receives advanced medical equipment

The new Hospital Estadual do Alto Tapajós in Alta Floresta, Mato Grosso, has been equipped with more than 500 items of hospital furniture and life‑support equipment. The investment to date totals R$ 31.78 million, including a R$ 15.128 million package for a state‑of‑the‑art magnetic‑resonance imaging scanner and an angiography/hemodynamics system, a technology new to the region that will enable minimally invasive cardiovascular, neurological and vascular procedures. Additional acquisitions are underway, with seven procurement processes completed and further purchases worth up to R$ 69.7 million expected. The facility will eventually house 162 beds, 40 intensive‑care beds (adult and pediatric) and provide high‑complexity services such as oncology, interventional cardiology, orthopaedics, general surgery, paediatrics, neurology and neurosurgery. Activation of the hospital is planned for July, with a gradual rollout of services.
