Brazil's Pé-de-Meia program begins fourth installment for students

The Ministry of Education (MEC) started the fourth payment of the Pé-de-Meia program on Monday, 29 June 2026. Eligible public‑school students receive a R$ 200 monthly attendance incentive, with deposits made according to their birth month. The schedule runs from 29 June for those born in January–February, 30 June for March–April, 1 July for May–June, 2 July for July–August, 3 July for September–October and 6 July for November–December.

To qualify, students must be enrolled in the public secondary system (regular or Youth and Adult Education), be between 14‑24 years old (19‑24 for EJA), have a family registered in CadÚnico with income up to half a minimum wage, possess a regular CPF and have attended at least 80 % of classes in April. The programme, established by Law 14.818/2024, aims to reduce school dropout. In addition to the attendance grant, the Ministry may also release the 2026 enrolment incentive and the 2025 completion incentive for those with updated school records.

Payments are processed by Caixa Econômica Federal into accounts automatically opened for each beneficiary and can be consulted via the Gov.br portal. Since its launch in 2024, Pé-de-Meia has reached about 7.2 million students nationwide, with total potential benefits of up to R$ 9.2 thousand per student over the course of secondary education.
