Acri: Prefecture revokes mayoral ordinance

The Prefecture has revoked an administrative ordinance issued by the Mayor of Acri on August 13. According to the political group Acri Rossa – Rifondazione Comunista, the Prefecture identified problematic issues regarding the motivation and legitimacy of the measure.

The Prefecture requested that the municipal administration revoke the provision and consult with the Provincial Committee for Order and Security before making similar decisions in the future. The political group criticized the administration, noting this is the second time a mayoral act has been annulled or rectified, following a previous dispute regarding tree cutting regulations in February 2025.

Further criticisms from Rifondazione Comunista involve the management of administrative acts and the balance between public security, urban decorum, and individual freedoms. They argued that limitations on citizen rights must be strictly motivated and conducted by competent authorities according to the law.
