Activision introduces skin toggle for Call of Duty: Warzone

Activision has announced a new client-side operator skin toggle for Call of Duty: Warzone, set to debut alongside the first season of Modern Warfare 4. This feature allows players to hide cosmetic skins from previous titles, replacing them with standardized Modern Warfare 4 character models in lobbies and during active matches.

The toggle is designed to address community feedback from players who prefer a more grounded, military aesthetic over the diverse crossover content—such as collaborations with The Boys or American Dad—that has accumulated in Warzone since 2020. When enabled, the filter is strictly client-side; while the user sees uniform tactical gear, opponents and teammates will still see the original selected outfits. The setting will be turned off by default.

Additionally, the Carry Forward program will continue, ensuring that operators and weapons from Modern Warfare II through Black Ops 7 remain available in Warzone via a Legacy tab. Modern Warfare 4 is scheduled for release on October 23, 2026.
