Actors support LGBTQ+ love triangle in ‘Quem Ama Cuida’

Actors Pietro Antonelli and João Victor Gonçalves have expressed support for a developing gay love triangle in the Globo telenovela ‘Quem Ama Cuida’. The plot involves the characters Felipe, played by Antonelli, and Mau Mau, played by Gonçalves, as they become central to a romantic conflict involving the character Fernando.

Antonelli noted that the romantic arc for Felipe was not part of the original script but evolved due to strong audience engagement and social media popularity. He described himself as an ‘ally of love’ and welcomed the opportunity to explore diverse narratives in prime-time television.

Gonçalves, who portrays Mau Mau, stated that the storyline will facilitate the character’s journey of self-discovery regarding his LGBT identity. He highlighted that the character faces domestic challenges and homophobia from his grandfather, Otoniel, played by Tony Ramos.
