Actress Kiều Thanh implicated in Hanoi drug trafficking investigation

Hanoi police have dismantled a significant drug trafficking and usage network following an investigation that began with the arrest of a supplier of drug paraphernalia. Authorities initially apprehended Nguyễn Thị Đông in the Yên Hòa Ward for selling glass pipes used for drug consumption. A subsequent search of her residence uncovered 781 such items.

The investigation expanded into a large-scale operation involving multiple units of the Hanoi Police, leading to the discovery of nearly 100 related individuals. Authorities seized approximately 7kg of methamphetamine, over 1kg of ketamine, nearly 83g of MDMA, and nearly 117g of heroin, along with a homemade firearm and ammunition.

Among those implicated is actress Kiều Thanh, a Meritorious Artist known for her role in the series ‘Phía trước là bầu trời’. Police reports indicate that Thanh was involved in the illegal sale and use of narcotics. During the raid, officers found Thanh and her husband using drugs. Investigators noted that Thanh had used her sister-in-law’s Zalo account to facilitate transactions for drug paraphernalia. While the actress initially denied involvement in trafficking, police stated they have gathered sufficient evidence to substantiate the charges.
