Adam Fantilli set for $13‑$14 million per year five‑year deal with Columbus Blue Jackets

Adam Fantilli, a restricted free agent after completing his entry‑level contract, is expected to sign a five‑year extension with the Columbus Blue Jackets valued at roughly $13 million to $14 million per season. NHL insiders Aaron Portzline and David Pagnotta cite recent market shifts following the high‑profile contracts of Leo Carlsson and Connor Bedard as driving the projected salary.

The Blue Jackets have about $14.5 million in cap space and project a roster cap hit of $86.7 million for 2026‑27, well under the league’s $104 million ceiling. Fantilli, who posted career highs of 24 goals, 35 assists and 59 points in the 2023‑24 season, could secure the deal before the Sept. 16 deadline that limits contract lengths under the new collective bargaining agreement.
