Poland's Centralny Port Komunikacyjny project advances with rail hub approval and foundation contract

The Mazovian governor issued a location decision for the eastern rail hub of the Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK) airport, covering 212 hectares and integrating lines 5, 85 and 88 of the high‑speed rail network. The hub will support both civil and military dual‑use rail and will link the new airport with Warsaw and Łódź.

Budimex won the contract to carry out deep‑foundation works for the passenger terminal, valued at 146 million zł, involving over 8,000 piles and columns up to 30 m long and more than 140 km of reinforcement. Work is set to begin in September 2026, with completion slated for 2027‑28. At the same time, CPK appointed Adam Ferens to its board to coordinate construction and oversee the project’s operational rollout. The overall programme is budgeted at 131.7 billion zł through 2032 and is expected to create over 35,000 jobs.
