Adam Troy Mann murder trial reaches closing arguments

Closing arguments have commenced in the second-degree murder trial of 43-year-old Adam Troy Mann, who is accused of the June 2024 stabbing death of Tori Dunn during an alleged home invasion in Surrey’s Port Kells neighborhood.

During the proceedings in the B.C. Supreme Court in New Westminster, Mann testified in his own defense, stating he was unfamiliar with the area and had been involved in a disagreement with a bus passenger on the night of the incident. Defence lawyer Paul McMurray urged the jury to maintain the presumption of innocence, emphasizing that the Crown must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

The defense also highlighted discrepancies in the initial investigation, noting that the victim's boyfriend, Trafford Wace, had provided a description of the suspect that did not match Mann’s physical appearance.
