Adamawa State: Eight killed in suspected Boko Haram raid

Suspected Boko Haram insurgents launched a raid on the Gaya-Dlang community in the Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State on Monday evening. The attack resulted in the deaths of eight people, including one police inspector and seven civilians, according to Aliyu Sa’ad, the Chairman of Hong Local Government Area.

During the raid, attackers reportedly set houses on fire and stole foodstuffs. Reports also indicate that two girls were abducted during the incident. While the Adamawa State Police Command initially confirmed the recovery of five bodies—four civilians and one inspector—local officials provided a higher casualty count.

Security forces, including the military, police, local hunters, and vigilantes, have been deployed to the region to track the attackers and restore order. The incident follows a series of security challenges and insurgent attacks in the area over recent months.
