Adamawa State marks Independence with hospital outreach
To mark Nigeria’s 66th Independence anniversary, the Adamawa State Government conducted a hospital outreach program providing financial support and essential items to vulnerable citizens. A delegation of state commissioners visited the Yola Specialist Hospital and Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital to deliver aid to newborn babies, mothers, and children.
Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Leader Leneke, stated that the government opted for a low-key celebration focused on direct social impact rather than elaborate festivities. The initiative aimed to assist families with medical expenses amidst current economic challenges. The state also reaffirmed its policy of providing free healthcare for children aged zero to five years as part of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s commitment to expanding healthcare access.
