Adamawa State social and security initiatives

The Adamawa State government has implemented several social and security initiatives focused on healthcare and regional stability.

To mark Nigeria’s 66th Independence anniversary, the state conducted a hospital outreach program providing financial support and essential items to vulnerable citizens, including newborns and mothers, at Yola Specialist Hospital and Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital. Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Leader Leneke, noted the government chose a low-key celebration focused on direct social impact to assist families with medical expenses.

Following this, the state launched a maternal and child nutritional support outreach at the Yola Specialist Hospital. Inaugurated by the Governor’s wife, Lami Ahmadu Fintiri, the program provides nutritional supplements and food to pregnant women, nursing mothers, and children to combat malnutrition. Additionally, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri donated 15 Toyota Hilux vehicles and 300 motorcycles to traditional rulers to strengthen grassroots security and intelligence gathering against groups such as Boko Haram and ISWAP.
