Adana kebab shop shooting leaves one dead, several injured, six arrested
On 30 July, a gun‑fire incident erupted at a kebab shop on Adnan Kahveci Boulevard in the Güzelyalı neighbourhood of Çukurova, Adana. The dispute began when real‑estate agent Baran Yücekaya met with Halil S. to discuss a land sale; Yücekaya later sent S.’s location to a group of rivals. Two hooded assailants, one identified as “Kalaşnikof”, opened fire on the premises. Injured victims included H. S., E. Ç., K. E., Baran Yücekaya and Samet Aksoy, a restaurant employee who later died despite medical treatment. Police apprehended six suspects – Muhammet Çiftçi, Muhammed Rezuk, Baran Yücekaya, his wife S. Y., his mother S. Y., and Ali A. – who were charged and taken to court. After his discharge, Yücekaya was found to have hidden at an address, prompting further investigation. The case is being handled by the Adana Provincial Police Crime Bureau.
