Adana jeweler murder suspect arrested while attempting to flee by boat
Police have apprehended the suspect responsible for the fatal shooting of jeweler Zahir Cız in the Seyhan district of Adana. The attack occurred on October 4, when an unidentified assailant opened fire on Cız and his associate, H. A., while they were sitting in front of a business. Cız died from a gunshot wound to the head, while H. A. was injured.
Investigations by a specialized homicide unit revealed that the suspect, identified as Osman A., had a criminal record including 13 prior offenses. Authorities determined the motive was linked to a conflict with the ‘Bayğaralar’ organized crime group, which allegedly ordered the killing.
Osman A. was tracked to Kuşadası, Aydın, where he was caught attempting to flee the country by boat. In a coordinated dawn operation, police also detained several accomplices believed to have assisted in his escape. A total of 10 individuals have been taken into custody in connection with the incident.
