Adana Starts €12 Million Wastewater Treatment Project for 60,000 Residents

The Adana Metropolitan Municipality’s Water and Sewerage Administration (ASKİ) has begun construction of the Doğankent, Solaklı, Yunusoğlu collector line and Group Wastewater Treatment Plant. The €12 million investment will serve about 60,000 people across seven neighbourhoods—Doğankent, Solaklı, Yunusoğlu, Havutlu, Taşçı, Denizkuyusu and Sakızlı.

The facility will have a daily capacity of 15,797 m³, with roughly 11.4 km of collector pipelines, 2.8 km of lift pipes and four modular lift stations. Mechanical, electrical and automation systems are being installed to ensure safe, efficient operation. Completion is planned for 2027, after which the system is expected to curb illegal discharge, reduce odour and flood risk, and protect groundwater, improving public‑health conditions in the area.
