Adani Defence signs five-year ammunition pact for AK-203 programme

Adani Defence & Aerospace has signed a five-year agreement with Indo-Russian Rifles Private Limited (IRRPL) to supply indigenous 7.62x39 mm small-calibre ammunition for the AK-203 assault rifle programme.

The pact aims to create an integrated domestic supply chain in India by connecting IRRPL’s rifle manufacturing with Adani Defence’s ammunition production. This arrangement is intended to ensure the continuity of ammunition availability for the AK-203 programme.

IRRPL was established in 2019 through an India-Russia intergovernmental agreement to manufacture AK-203 rifles at a facility in Korwa, Amethi district, Uttar Pradesh. The Ministry of Defence previously contracted IRRPL in December 2021 for the production of over 600,000 AK-203 rifles.
