Adani Ports handles record 50 MMT cargo in August 2026

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) reported a record 50 million metric tonnes (MMT) of cargo handled in August 2026, representing a 19% year-on-year increase from 41.9 MMT in the previous year.

The growth was driven by a 25% rise in dry cargo volumes and a 15% increase in container volumes. Key contributors included commodities such as coal, iron ore, limestone, and other minerals. International operations also bolstered performance, specifically through the North Queensland Export Terminal in Australia and the ramp-up of the Colombo West International Terminal in Sri Lanka.

Other significant assets contributing to the growth include Mundra in Gujarat, Krishnapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, and the port of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania. For the first five months of the 2027 fiscal year, cumulative cargo handled reached 234.4 MMT, up 16% compared to the same period last year.
