Adapazarı residents hold nightly vigils to catch unidentified harasser

Residents of the Evren neighborhood in the Adapazarı district of Sakarya have been living in fear for approximately six months due to an unidentified individual who harasses the community at night. The suspect reportedly throws large paving stones at houses, targets residents with laser lights, and stalks people in their gardens.

In an attempt to identify the perpetrator, locals installed security cameras, but the individual allegedly targeted and disabled some of the devices with stones. The situation escalated recently, leading to a chase where a resident, Mahmut Yıldız, was reportedly struck in the leg by a stone.

Distressed by the ongoing harassment, groups of up to 30 villagers have begun holding nightly vigils until dawn to try and catch the suspect. Residents report that the constant disturbances have caused significant sleep deprivation and fear, preventing them from working or feeling safe in their own homes.
