ADEDY announces Panhellenic Day of Action for October 1, 2026

The Executive Committee of ADEDY has designated Thursday, October 1, 2026, as a Panhellenic Day of Action. The mobilization is a response to recent statements made by the Prime Minister at the IMF, which the union claims fail to address the legitimate demands of public sector employees to live with dignity.

In the Evros region, the local branch of ADEDY is organizing several activities, including workplace visits, meetings with member unions, and a press conference. A major gathering of workers and citizens is scheduled for 19:00 at Independence Park (Akadimia) in Alexandroupoli, which will be followed by a live music event.

The union's grievances include concerns over wages and working conditions, the potential removal of tenure (permanency), new disciplinary measures, constitutional revisions, the implementation of a new grading system, and the impact of inflation and the housing crisis on the Greek population.
