ADEDY criticizes Greek government wage and bonus announcements

The Panhellenic Confederation of Employees of the Greek Public Sector (ADEDY) has issued a strong condemnation of the Greek government's recent economic announcements made during the Thessaloniki International Fair. The labor confederation criticized the government's proposed support measures for public employees, specifically targeting a one-time gross bonus of 500 euros to be distributed over 18 months.

ADEDY argued that these measures are insufficient to combat inflation and the erosion of purchasing power. The organization highlighted that the promised wage increase for 2027 amounts to less than one euro per day. Furthermore, the confederation criticized the government for prioritizing military spending and corporate subsidies over essential public services such as health, education, and social welfare.
