Adeje implements urban transport and road infrastructure upgrades

Adeje is implementing several infrastructure and transport improvements to manage urban growth and mobility. Following the launch of new urban bus lines 448 and 449 in August, local authorities and the Coalición Canaria group are now entering a phase of service optimization. Proposals include adjusting schedules and expanding routes to better serve areas like La Caleta, specifically to accommodate the shift changes of local workers.

Simultaneously, the Adeje City Council has announced a major road remodeling project for Avenida Tinerfe El Grande, the main access to the town center. The project aims to increase capacity by expanding the road from one lane per direction to two, separated by a four-meter median. The plan also includes a reorganized roundabout, a 3.5-meter bike lane, and widened sidewalks.

The roadworks, which are expected to take 16 months to complete in two phases, have a combined budget exceeding 2.5 million euros. These measures respond to high traffic volumes, with studies noting significant daily vehicle circulation in the area.
