Overview
Adeje is undertaking infrastructure and transport improvements to manage urban growth and mobility. Following the August launch of new urban bus lines 448 and 449, authorities are working to optimize services by adjusting schedules and expanding routes to better serve areas such as La Caleta.
In conjunction with transit updates, the Adeje City Council has announced a major remodeling project for Avenida Tinerfe El Grande, the primary access to the town center from the TF-1 southern highway. The project aims to reduce congestion by expanding the 425-meter avenue into a four-lane road with two lanes in each direction, separated by a four-meter median.
The comprehensive plan includes the reorganization of the access roundabout, the addition of a 3.5-meter bicycle lane, widened sidewalks, improved pedestrian paths, new public lighting, and drainage enhancements. The roadworks are expected to be executed in two phases over approximately 16 months, with a combined budget exceeding 2.5 million euros.
