Adelaide unveils $96 million MotoGP street circuit

South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas has officially unveiled the design for the new Adelaide MotoGP street circuit. The $96 million project is set to host the Australian Grand Prix starting in 2027, replacing Phillip Island as the nation's MotoGP venue. The agreement runs through 2032, with options to extend.

The 4.13-kilometer track features 15 corners and utilizes streets that previously hosted Formula 1, including iconic sections such as Stag Corner, Rundle Road, Brewery Bend, and Dequetteville Terrace. The circuit is designed to accommodate both MotoGP and Supercars, with motorcycle speeds predicted to reach up to 343 km/h.

Developed in collaboration with the FIM and MotoGP, the project aims to bring racing into the city center to increase accessibility and economic impact. Projections suggest the events could generate over $200 million annually for South Australia. The redevelopment also includes community infrastructure, such as improved cycling and running loops in the surrounding parklands.
