Aden missile attacks target international airport and coast guard headquarters

Houthi militias launched three ballistic missiles at the temporary capital of Aden, Yemen, on Saturday, targeting Aden International Airport and Coast Guard facilities. According to Yemeni officials, two missiles struck the Coast Guard headquarters located at the Ministry of Interior and in the Tawahi district, while a third missile landed near the Tawahi port pier.

The attack resulted in injuries to a fisherman and damage to a small fishing boat. Yemeni Minister of Information, Moammar al-Eryani, stated that the strikes threaten vital maritime security and international trade routes, including the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea.

The Ministry of Human Rights condemned the strikes, noting that this marks the fourth time Aden International Airport has been targeted by ballistic missiles this month. Officials emphasized that the targeted sites perform civilian and policing functions, such as medical evacuations and humanitarian aid transport, and are protected under international humanitarian law. The Yemeni government has called on the international community and the United Nations to condemn the attacks, stop the flow of military technology to the Houthis, and support the designation of the group as a terrorist organization.
