Yemeni security operations against Houthi militia

Yemeni security forces have undertaken various measures to counter Houthi militia activities and enhance regional stability.

In Aden, the Ministry of Interior launched a security awareness program for the Aden Free Zone Police to increase vigilance and intercept smuggled weapons. Recent operations in the Dar Sad district led to the apprehension of an organized terrorist cell. Investigations indicated that members were recruited and trained in Houthi-controlled areas, specifically in secret camps in the Al-Houban region of Taiz. This training reportedly covered combat skills, explosive manufacturing, and drone technology. The cell’s intended targets included monitoring high-ranking security officials and attacking military and security headquarters in Aden.

In the Abyan Governorate, security forces have successfully thwarted plots by Houthi militia cells. Authorities intercepted a group planning to plant explosive devices and conduct sabotage to destabilize the province. Interior Minister Major General Ibrahim Ali Haidan has commended the readiness of the security apparatus and emphasized the necessity of continued coordination to pursue those involved in such activities.
