Yemeni Government launches institutional reform plan in Aden

The Yemeni government has launched a national initiative to restructure state institutions and improve administrative efficiency. The Ministerial Committee for Institutional Reform held its first meeting in Aden, chaired by Prime Minister Shayea Mohsen al-Zindani, to discuss a work plan aimed at addressing systemic imbalances accumulated during years of conflict.

The reform program will begin with a first phase targeting specific ministries to serve as practical models. The committee's objectives include reviewing organizational structures, eliminating overlapping jurisdictions, enhancing digital transformation, and updating government legislation. Prime Minister al-Zindani emphasized that institutional reform is essential for restoring state effectiveness and ensuring resources are managed efficiently to improve public services.

In a related effort to improve infrastructure, the Supreme Energy Council also met in Aden to discuss reforms in the electricity sector. Discussions focused on addressing accumulated technical and financial imbalances, maintaining power generation units, and implementing a strategic plan for the electrical system. The council is also evaluating the use of solar energy to diversify power sources and reduce operational costs.
