Aden launches security campaign and administrative review
Security forces in Aden have launched a large-scale preemptive campaign across several mountainous districts to secure the city's borders and prevent civil unrest. Under the supervision of Aden Security Director Major General Mutahar Ali Al-Shuaibi, the operation involved intensive deployments in areas including Tawahi, Al-Rawdah, Al-Mualla, and Crater. The campaign included identity checks, inspections of buildings on mountain slopes, and the arrest of several suspects believed to be involved in activities threatening public peace.
In a separate administrative development, the Minister of State and Governor of Aden, Abdulrahman Sheikh, chaired an expanded meeting of the capital's Executive Office to evaluate the performance of service and security institutions for the first half of 2026. The meeting reviewed reports from sectors such as education, social affairs, taxation, and customs. Major General Al-Shuaibi reported that the security situation remains under firm control despite regional military escalations, noting that security agencies have successfully thwarted attempts to destabilize the capital.
