Adewale Isa Foundation Tennis Tournament progresses in Lagos

The seventh Adewale Isa Foundation Tennis Tournament is currently underway at the Lagos Mainland Tennis Club in Surulere. Held under the theme ‘Impacting Lives Through Tennis and Education’, the event is organized in memory of the late tennis coach Adewale Isa to sustain his legacy through talent discovery.

The competition features nearly 300 young players competing in the U-12, U-14, and U-16 categories. In the boys’ U-16 category, Heman Afaramai advanced to the final after defeating Godwin Akinfumiloye 6-3, 6-2. In the girls’ U-16 category, former winner Mofifunoluwa Atilola secured her place in the next stage by defeating Josphine Musa 6-2, 6-1.

Participants and coaches have praised the foundation and its collaborator, Milo Nigeria, for providing financial support and opportunities for young athletes to showcase their skills. Coaches emphasized the importance of regular tournaments and increased sponsorship to further the development of emerging Nigerian tennis talent.
