Adewale Isa Foundation tennis tournament in Lagos

The Adewale Isa Foundation launched its 7th annual tennis tournament at the Mainland Tennis Club in Surulere, Lagos. Organized to honor the legacy of the late coach Adewale Isa, the event focuses on talent discovery and the theme of ‘Impacting Lives Through Tennis and Education’.

The tournament involves approximately 300 players across the U-12, U-14, and U-16 categories. Beyond athletic competition, the foundation has integrated educational scholarships for senior secondary students to promote a balance between academics and sports. To combat equipment shortages, the foundation provides tennis gear to winners instead of cash prizes, and offers training tours in the United States for winners in the under-12 categories.

As the competition progressed, specific match results were recorded in the U-16 categories, with Heman Afaramai and Mofifunoluwa Atilola advancing through their respective brackets. Coaches and participants have highlighted the importance of the foundation and its collaborator, Milo Nigeria, in providing the necessary support to develop emerging Nigerian tennis talent.
