Aditya Thackeray questions GDP growth and employment levels
Aditya Thackeray, a leader of the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), has challenged government claims of a 7.8 percent GDP growth rate. Speaking in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar during a public movement for the development of Marathwada, Thackeray questioned why rapid economic growth is not translating into improved livelihoods or increased employment for the general public.
Thackeray raised concerns regarding the long-term economic outlook, questioning whether India will achieve economic strength by 2047 or struggle with an aging population. He specifically highlighted the industrial decline in the Marathwada region, noting that 211 companies have either closed down or relocated.
Additionally, Thackeray leveled allegations against the education system, claiming that some schools are attempting to hide actual student numbers through deceptive practices. He called for direct inspections of schools to verify enrollment data and urged the government to prioritize industrial development and employment over electoral politics.
