ADNOC-affiliated tankers attacked in Strait of Hormuz
Two vessels affiliated with the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) were struck by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) while transiting the Strait of Hormuz on August 14. No injuries were reported during the incidents.
The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the strikes, describing them as hostile Iranian actions and a violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2817. While the UAE has attributed the attacks to Iran, neither the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) nor U.S. Central Command had confirmed the incident at the time of reporting, and Iran had not issued a comment.
The attacks occur in a critical global energy shipping route, raising renewed concerns regarding maritime security and the stability of the global energy market.
