Adobe Acrobat introduces AI chat controls and podcast generation

Adobe has introduced significant AI-driven updates to Adobe Acrobat, including new features designed to streamline document management through conversational interfaces and audio conversion.

The “Chat-based PDF Operation” feature allows users to perform tasks such as deleting pages, replacing text, adding signatures, or applying passwords using natural language instructions. This update aims to simplify workflows that previously required multiple manual steps. A 2026 Adobe survey indicated high user interest in AI chat controls, particularly for OCR (84%) and Word conversion (82%).

Additionally, the “Generate Podcast” feature enables users to transform long or complex PDF documents into summarized audio files. This allows for efficient information consumption during commutes or other mobile activities. Users can choose between different voice options for these audio summaries.

Other announced upgrades include the ability to convert documents into interactive reports or summary slides, a centralized knowledge base that synchronizes various file types with services like SharePoint or Google Drive, and an “Analyzer” tool capable of extracting structured data from large volumes of documents.
