ADP calls for protest against Dominican Ministry of Education
The Dominican Association of Teachers (ADP) has called for a protest on Wednesday, October 7, at 9:00 a.m. in front of the Ministry of Education headquarters on Máximo Gómez Avenue. The mobilization, organized under the slogan “The evaluation has not ended, the struggle begins now,” aims to demand solutions to several issues affecting educators.
Key grievances include unresolved matters regarding the Performance Evaluation process. Out of 122,080 teachers evaluated, approximately 111,090 completed the process, while roughly 10,000 remain pending for a second stage or payment. Additionally, the union reports that 3,500 claims regarding evaluation results are still awaiting responses.
Beyond evaluations, the ADP is demanding the payment of retroactive resources, corrections to errors in double-session assignments, and improvements to school infrastructure that has caused class disruptions in several centers. The protest will primarily involve coordinators and educators from the induction program, supported by provincial union leaders.
