Adriana Baravalle appointed Argentina's Secretary of Innovation

The Argentine government has appointed Adriana Baravalle as the new Secretary of Innovation, Science, and Technology, replacing Darío Genua. The appointment was formalized via Decree 730/2026, signed by President Javier Milei and Chief of Cabinet Diego Santilli.

Baravalle is an expert in artificial intelligence, data science, and cybersecurity. She holds a doctorate in AI from American Andragogy University and a master's degree from Universidad Austral, where she also directs the Laboratory of Exponential Technologies. Her professional background includes academic research, teaching, and leadership in regional networks like synapsIA.

Her primary objectives include deepening state technological transformation, promoting the adoption of new technologies, and strengthening ties between the public sector, private industry, and the scientific community. Under her leadership, the secretariat will oversee key organizations such as CONICET, the National Commission for Space Activities (CONAE), and the National Genetic Data Bank.
