Dr. Adrianos Golemis is set to become the first Greek astronaut to travel to space. He is scheduled to participate in the PAM-6 mission during the second half of 2027, which will include a visit to the International Space Station (ISS).

The mission is an initiative led by France and Germany to strengthen the European presence within the space industry. The participation of Greece was officially announced by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis during the International Space Summit in Paris, alongside French President Emmanuel Macron.

This milestone follows previous discussions regarding a national space program and Greece's existing satellite programs, marking a significant step for the country's scientific presence in space exploration.
